Academics
An Individualized Program
Centered In and Guided By
Jesus Christ Through His Word
Many of our students come to Calvary Academy lacking the necessary skills to succeed academically. Therefore, upon enrollment, each child is evaluated in the core subjects and a self-paced program is designed to accommodate each student’s strengths and weaknesses utilizing the Accelerated Christian Education (PACE) program. Every subject is taught from a Christian perspective. Every effort is made by the teaching staff to further the student’s progress toward graduation.
On the elementary level, instruction includes Religion, math, science, reading, language, social studies and word building.
On the secondary level, successful completion of one semester course earns ½ credit in that course. Instruction includes Religion, English, math, science and social studies with the level of the courses taken dependent upon successful completion of previous course work (e.g. if credit has been earned for Algebra I, the next math class would be geometry). Electives such as a higher level math or science class will be determined at the time of enrollment and when testing has been completed.
Graduation requirements: Calvary Academy-Florida will issue a high school diploma to students who have earned twenty four credits from Calvary and schools previously attended. Credit must be earned for all religion courses taken at Calvary. Four English credits, two math credits, three social studies credits, two science credits and one physical education credit are to be part of the twenty four credits.
